World Health Day is celebrated to mark the anniversary of the founding of The World Health Organization (WHO). The World Health Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations that focuses on international public health.
It was established on April 7, 1948, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
At HoPE Learning Centers, children explain the necessity of keeping everyone in good health through speech and essay writing competitions. They practice first aid techniques and attend lectures by local health care workers.
They also receive healthy, nutritious mini meals, like they do on all other HoPE Center days throughout the year!
It doesn’t cost much to bring HoPE and Health to children. It costs only $300 a month to sponsor an entire HoPE Learning Center. If that is not within your budget right now, only $9 a month covers the costs of HoPE Center sponsorship for one child, including tutoring, lessons, materials, daily mini meals, and national holiday activities.
