Sometimes those who have the least are the ones who are the most grateful for life’s blessings. Yamini has been very poor all her life. She, along with her mother and sister, were abandoned by her father when she was very young. They now live with her grandmother near Guruvarajapet in Tamil Nadu, India where she attends a HoPE Learning Center.
Since the HoPE Learning Center came to Yamini’s village, she is now getting an education and nutritious mini-meals to eat, which have greatly rejuvenated her after years of being malnourished. Studies in Phonemic Intelligence have helped her focus and improved her academic scores greatly.
She is very grateful to her sponsors and says HoPE Learning Center is one of the best things that has ever happened to her. Her gratitude is motivating her to work very hard to grow into a respectable member of her community. She now hopes to become a police officer so that she can help protect her neighbors from becoming victims of the wave of crimes that have plagued her village.
